CON PLOMO Vol. Violeta (LEADED Vol. Violet) by Tr3spuntocer0, is the fourth and the last in a series of 4 that Koshkil Records adds to its catalog.
Live performances
The selection of recordings that make up this volume is extracted from presentations that took place in different venues in Madrid between 2013 and 2017. The energy of the trio produced spectacular
performances with the magic of what is known to be unique and unrepeatable. There was always the idea of a collective experience, including the audience, in which sound, rhythm, folkloric evocations coexist with talks, meals and drinks as in the case of memorable performances.

LINER NOTES
There is a widely held opinion (one I usually share) affirming that the trio is the
ideal instrumental format. With only a few instruments, there’s room for
individual expression, while still allowing for a range of timbral combinations and
group interactions. It’s no coincidence that in jazz, trios of piano, double bass,
and drums—or of organ, guitar, and drums—are so frequent. Or that in rock, the
"power trio" of guitar, bass, and drums has become such a defining formation.
Somewhat less common, trios of saxophone, bass, and drums also have a rich
history. Sonny Rollins, John Coltrane, Joe Henderson, and Lee Konitz all
explored this format; Steve Lacy, Albert Ayler, Ornette Coleman, Sam Rivers,
and Marion Brown used it to venture into experimental territory; and excellent
bands like Stone Alliance, The Trio, Back Door, or Morphine pushed along the
paths of jazz fusion with funk, blues, and rock.
Tr3spuntocer0, this group of three friends and three great musicians, stands
firmly within that tradition. Their repertoire includes mostly original compositions
contributed by the three members: “La Lidia,” “El Vidalero,” and “La Murguita”
by Marcelo; “Incertidumbre” and “Evocación de tu Nube” by Juan; and
“Artesano” and “El Termo” by José—pieces steeped in Andean and Río de la
Plata flavors. The well-known chamamé “Anahí” by Sosa Cordero is performed
in the style of Gato Barbieri, one of Marcelo 's saxophone inspirations. The
journey even leads to a version of “The Ocean”, the Led Zeppelin classic.
A diversity of influences without ever lapsing into pastiche. On the contrary: an
artistic blend within an improvisational context, enhanced by the natural
dynamics of the trio—where everything seeks balance between individual
mastery and collective cohesion, between the prearranged and the
spontaneous.

This double edition of CON PLOMO – Vol. Gris and Vol. Violeta (LEADED Vol.
Grey and Vol. Violet) offers the chance to hear the trio both in the studio and
live, allowing us to appreciate the full range of possibilities that emerge when
we’re in the presence of musicians of this caliber.
